Sewing at last!

It has been such a long time since I have sewn anything, let alone fussy little doll clothes, that I find I'm quite out of practice. My little Corolle Les Cheries doll, Ines, came as a ballerina. I've never been particularly fond of ballerinas/princesses, and besides her feet looked like they were killing her in those stockings and ballet flats. Also, she had no underwear. Spunk says I'm crazy, but I think panties for dolls are just as important as they are for me. Here she is at last with a new dress (and panties). I've never made doll shoes. Eventually I'll get my courage up and try to make some.

"I'm still waiting for that cammie you suggested Mom make, Aunty Audra!"

  1. What a nice summery dress! My attempts at shoes have been less than successful. I'm sure practice is the key there. I actually bought a shoe pattern from the Liberty Jane website but have not yet had the courage to try it.

Now that you're back in the habit of sewing, Ines is going to expect quite a lot from you.

    1. Thank you. Good luck with the Liberty Jane shoes. The fur boots you made Lorraine a while back looked wonderful, so I'm sure you'll make nice shoes from this pattern. And you're right; Ines continues to ask for a cammie and now a nighty. I think she'll have to wait until the new Corolle girl gets some clothes first though.

  2. Very nice! I agree, dolls need underwear too. Love that fabric you used for the dress. Doll shoes are difficult to make, I keep putting off making some for my dolls, they are so fiddly and I get glue everywhere. Glad you are back to sewing, making doll clothes is a lovely hobby.

    1. Thank you, Ann. I agree that it is a lovely hobby, and I am so glad to be sewing again. I've noticed a lot of dolls in their sock feet on other blogs. I think many of us share the same horror of making shoes.
