First, I'd like to wish Seranata's Peggy Sue a very Happy Birthday. Her dolls threw a splendid party in Peggy Sue's honor. You can read all about it here: http://howmanydolls.blogspot.com/2013/11/party-time-happy-birthday-peggy-sue.html#comment-form .
I suppose I should begin with the most exciting acquisition. I finally bought a Sasha doll. I made a very low offer on ebay, and the seller accepted it. She is a birthday present to myself, although I really don't need official reasons to buy dolls. Every day is a dolly day! She is an original Sasha doll. I've thought of several potential names for her, but I keep calling her Sasha. I'm pleased to say that the other dolls have given her a very warm welcome.
As a lover of nature and particularly botany, I couldn't resist buying Venus McFlytrap. Carnivorous plants have always fascinated me. She has become best friends with a much more sedate looking Moxie girl. I suppose opposites do attract in some cases.

Here is a little beauty I found at Tuesday Morning a few weeks ago. She is jointed and was only $20. She reminds me of the beautiful artwork in the old anime shows we love to watch. I've not named her, or really 'played' with her. She looks so pretty in Spunk's room that I've just left here there on the sewing machine table.
I've been a little frustrated lately because I am not adjusting particularly well to 3rd shift, and I don't have the energy or mindset to sew right now. Also, I have a lot of work to do in my home (repair and remodeling) and I am working towards qualifying to teach high school science. The Department of Education has sent a letter stating that I have all the required college courses and now all I need to do is study for/take the Praxis test. I am excited about making my house nicer and the prospect of getting to teach science instead of driving a forklift on 3rd shift. And yet through all this, my dolls still are a huge part of my life and bring me a lot of comfort and companionship. Instead of fretting that they're not the best dressed dolls in the world, I am simply going to share their interaction in our lives. This is an exciting time for us and we feel immensely blessed. So, please join our motley crew on this adventure! As always, thank you so much for stopping by. (And if any of you can tell me how to follow other blogs on here, I'd be very grateful lol.)
Congratulations on your Sasha doll! I think you will be inspired to make her a dress, as a Welcome Home present. And you can't go wrong with a Monster High doll of any type. Your "anime" beauty is just that--Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing your college courses. I know you'll pass the Praxis test with flying colors. Keep up the good work, both educational and blogwise (if there is such a word).
I really don't understand how to "follow" blogs. It's a mystery to me.
Thank you, Audra. And you're right. My resolve to work before sewing her a dress is weakening. Thank you for all your kind words and encouragement.
DeleteIf the blog has a follow button, i just cluck on that and follow the steps.
ReplyDeleteI too would like to get a Sasha doll one day; congratulations on your find! I love your little anime too. I too have a Monster High girl. It took me a while to like them, but now I rhink they are great little dollies.
The 3rd shift sounds ghastly - is it at night? I thought you were being a funny bunny when you said you drove a fork! Clever you! My job is very computer/desk bound. You will be qualified and teaching before you know it. I agree the dollies sustain us through times of trouble.
Goodness! I meant to say "click" on the button, not cluck! =)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments and instructions. 'Cluck' is pretty funny Your computer job sounds interesting. The classes I took this summer were computer classes. I loved them. Third shift is the night shift (11pm-7am) and it is ghastly lol. Thank you for saying I'm clever for driving a forklift. I feel really blessed that I learned how to drive one as a receiving clerk for a home improvement store and could get a better job in a factory driving one. It is actually kind of fun...just not in the middle of the night. I've enjoyed watching your Bratz makeovers. When I discovered them several years ago, I though they were the most adorable things I'd ever seen. I still love them. They're such sassy little girls. Thanks again.
DeleteOkay, I clucked on the button and now I'm a Follower!
ReplyDeleteHi! I was browsing a bit (I love reading other people's doll blogs) and through Lizzie's blog I ended up here. I was laughing out loud here on my own (with my cat as only company) with the "cluck" comments (my cat must think I'm getting crazy!). Anyway, now I've wiped away the laughing tears: great dolls, especially the jointed one (I know her, but can't recall her name at the moment). And great about the teaching! That sounds more healthy for the biorhythm :-). Great blog! Linda
ReplyDeleteHello Nymphaea (Linda)! I'm glad you stopped by. I looked at your blogs and you have some very lovely dolls. I love your Lorifina doll. They are amazingly beautiful. Thank you for your comments. I'm glad to see you're a cat lover too. =).
DeleteHi again, I remember the name of the beautiful jointed doll I think, isn't she a J-Doll, from Jun Planning? They are so lovely! Thank you for liking and joining my blog, I joined yours also. Linda
DeleteYou're good Nymphaea. I searched the jointed doll and her stand and found the words, "Jun Planning". We didn't really look for a name when we bought her. Thanks for helping identify her.
DeleteMy dear Lizzie. Did you ever imagine you're typo would bring so many smiles? I am blessed with a sweet group of readers.
